Siete al Tennis Sporting Lesa, centro sportivo con piscina, palestra, campi da Paddle, un ottimo ristorante e soprattutto i campi da tennis che ospitavano negli anni ’80 la famosa “Coppa Valerio”.
Per decenni, grazie a Giuseppe Marenzi, nonno dell’attuale presidente del club, Lesa è stata una piccola capitale del tennis. Nella lunga storia del Tennis Sporting Lesa sono state ospitate manifestazioni internazionali con grandi campioni della racchetta come Rod L’aver, Ken Rosewall, da Fausto Gardini a Nicola Pietrangeli senza dimenticare la grandissima Lea Pericoli.
La Coppa Valerio a Lesa fu sede di ben 22 finalissime a partire dal 1972. Palcoscenico degli esordi internazionali di giocatori del calibro di Lendl, Gunthard, Noah, Mansdorf, Tulasne e di italiani come Ocleppo, Camporese e così via.
Oggi, nel mese di Agosto, questi campi sono ancora un importante palcoscenico del tennis internazionale grazie al nuovo torneo ITF maschile con montepremi da 25mila dollari e che anche quest’anno si ripeterà.

LESA, TENNIS SPORTING LESA, INTERNATIONAL TENNIS TOURNAMENTS
You are at Tennis Sporting Lesa, a sports centre with swimming pool, gym, paddle courts, an excellent restaurant and above all the tennis courts which hosted the famous Valerio Cup in the 70s and 80s.
For decades, thanks to Giuseppe Marenzi, grandfather of the current president of the club, Lesa was a small capital of tennis. In the long history of Tennis Sporting Lesa, international events have been hosted with great champions such as Rod L’aver, Ken Rosewall, from Fausto Gardini to Nicola Pietrangeli without forgetting the great Lea Pericoli.
The Valerio Cup in Lesa was the site of no less than 22 finals starting from 1972. It was the stage for the international debuts of players of the caliber of Lendl, Gunthard, Noah, Mansdorf, Tulasne and Italians such as Ocleppo, Camporese and so on.
Today, in the month of August, these courts are still an important stage for international tennis thanks to the new ITF men’s tournament with a prize pool of 25,000 dollars and which will also be repeated this year.
